Ashley Rivera, Founder |
Ashley is a thriving advocate and activist who has experienced domestic violence and mental health struggles throughout her life. She shares her story starting as a young Latina from Jersey City, New Jersey in an emotionally disconnected home. Over the years, she experienced different forms of intimate partner violence in relationships and was even impacted in work environments. These moments catapulted her from being a victim, to a DV research participant in 2016, into a co-researcher of 6+ years in Baltimore City, MD, her new home. She is a proud member of the Community Family Life Services (CFLS) Speakers Bureau as of May 2021, and Baltimore City's Domestic Violence Coordinating Council as of July 2022. After years of research, speaking engagements, and facilitating support groups she also released podcasts and is an author/editor of a published manuscript. Now Ashley is honorably Baltimore's City Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Court Liaison for the Mayor's Office Neighborhood Safety Engagement department. Outside of being a trauma healing and self care advocate, Ashley is a [solidcore] coach promoting health & wellness and serves as a EPIC Church Baltimore resource. Her mission is to empower others to have faith and confidently recognize unhealthy dynamics that foster strength to instill healthy lifestyle changes.
